Fan On The Ground: Hot Chip, London

See Tickets asks music fans and gig goers from across the UK where they are, who they're seeing live and what they thought of the experience. This time, we're in London for Fan on the Ground...

Hello Fan on the Ground. Who are you?

James & Clare, from Hull

Which city are you in, who have you come to see and where?

Have you got any tips for places to go and eat / drink pre-gig?

The Japanese Canteen, Arch 255, Paradise Row, E2 9LE and Hurwundeki (Korean restaurant), 298-299 Cambridge Heath Road, E2 9HA are good for a pre-gig bite.

For a drink, head to Satan's Whiskers cocktail bar on Cambridge Heath Road, or slightly further away from the venue, The Florist Arms on Globe Road is a decent traditional boozer.

If you've been to this venue before, can you share some of your favourite memories of other acts you've seen here? Or if its your first time here, what do you like about the venue?

We've only been to the venue once before, to see a DJ, so this was our first live act.  First impressions were that it looks great inside. There's also a nice terrace bar which does food and the main sound system is top notch.

What encouraged you to come and see Hot Chip tonight?

We've seen Hot Chip several times; they're always more than worth the price of a ticket.  This gig was a chance to see them in a venue which is just around the corner from our flat, and somewhere where we've not seen a live band before.

Give us your concise summary of the gig.

Grooving out to some funky tunes in a packed, sweaty venue, topped off with a fabulous encore of Springsteen's 'Dancing in the Dark'.

A good night - 8 out of 10.
