8 Reasons to be Excited for Stone Free Festival

A major new festival is making its way to The O2, London next year and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Stone Free brings together a wealth of artists and events together under one roof and will take place at the world’s number one music and entertainment venue. Stone Free Festival is one you don’t want to miss!

Performances will be spread across multiple stages, including appearances from headliners Alice Cooper and Rick Wakeman. Need a bit of convincing? Here’s 8 reasons why Stone Free Festival is going to be amazing, and why YOU should be there!

  1. 24 combined hours of classic rock music

Stone Free Festival will feature two 12-hour days of the very best in classic rock music and deliver a host of live performances spread over multiple stages. This includes many other must-visit events throughout the weekend. That’s 24 hours of pure rock ‘n’ roll. More than enough to keep you busy and give you value for money!

  1. Headliners debut performances at The O2

Stone Free Festival marks the debut solo performances of both Alice Cooper and Rick Wakeman at The O2. It’s bound to be amazing. Alice Cooper said: “Coming to the UK is always like coming home for us, fans in the UK are always high energy, always there. Headlining the very first Stone Free Festival at London’s The O2 in June next year is an example of why we feel so welcome. It will be my only performance in the UK next year. That makes it even more special.  And as always with my show you can expect the unexpected!"

  1. Rick Wakeman’s performance of ‘The Myths and Legends of King Arthur & The Knights of the Round Table’ for the first time since 1975

Feel special. Rick Wakeman will be performing ‘The Myths and Legends of King Arthur & The Knights of the Round Table’ for the first time since 1975. He said: "After the success of the ‘Journey To The Centre Of The Earth’ shows last year, I’m over the moon to have the opportunity to perform ‘King Arthur’ for the first time since 1975 with an orchestra and choir. It’s going to be wonderful!"

  1. No mud!

Put your wellies away! There's no chance of rain stopping play, no need to camp in a muddy field, state-of-the-art sound, great food and a whole host of transport options. Stone Free Festival sets the bench mark for a new type of rock festival in the UK.

  1. Q&As & Rock n Roll Story sessions

Stone Free will be mixing up the tried and tested Q&A format, hosting a number of intimate story telling sessions from a range of artists over the weekend. This will give fans a chance to hear first-hand the defining moments of their idol’s careers with Q&As from the audience as well.

  1. Vinyl fair

The vinyl revival is among us and Stone Free Festival will be inviting classic rock stallholders and specialists from around the country to take part in a trade fair at the event. This will be the perfect opportunity to discover long forgotten gems. So why not pick up some new releases by your favourite artists? Seek out some bargains to fill out your collection, with specialist record labels and vinyl pressing companies also in attendance.

  1. Street food & craft beer

Forget warm cans of cider and sausage rolls. Stone Free know that one of the most enjoyable parts about a festival is the imbibing, so don’t fear – we will have craft beer, real ales and independent street food stalls making an appearance throughout the weekend.

  1. Cinema screenings

The festival will host screenings at the cinema within The O2, showing some of the classic films associated with the genre. To make this a special interactive event we are throwing open the programme to fans to tell us what long forgotten films or stone cold classics they want to see.
