See’s Weekly Hot Picks featuring WILD LIFE Festival, Kings of Leon, Liverpool Sound City and more!

Good afternoon all, welcome to See Tickets’ weekly hot picks. Check out some of the amazing tours and festivals that have been announced, they’re all going on sale this week. We’ve got some great things to shout about, so enjoy!


WILD LIFE Festival, the event started by Disclosure and Rudimental in 2015, announces it will return to Brighton City Airport for its third consecutive year on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th June 2017. First headliners have been announced as Fatboy Slim and Jess Glynne. Joining them on the WILD LIFE stages are Eric Prydz, George Ezra, Rag’N’Bone Man, and Elrow’s Sambodromo De Brasil – with much more, including secret sets by returning acts and a third headliner, still to be revealed.

The UK’s largest city based festival, the award-winning Liverpool Sound City, has announced its line-up. Metronomy top Saturday’s bill alongside The Kills, Slaves, art-pop provocateur Peaches, The Hunna, Carl Barat & The Jackals, Pumarosa, Fickle Friends and many more. The Kooks will top Sunday’s bill. Having closed the festival in 2014 The Kooks provide a knowing nod to the rich history of Sound City. In support are White Lies, Local Natives, !!! (Chk Chk Chk), Milburn, She Drew The Gun, Cabbage, The Sherlocks, The Vryll Society and a host of other diverse and exciting acts.

Kings of Leon will play Manchester Arena on Friday, 9th June and Sheffield Arena on Saturday, 10th. The two newly announced shows follow their sold-out arena dates this February, and precede the band’s headline slot at British Summer Time Hyde Park on 6th July, with support from Pixies and Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats.

This unique event brings together the most influential British electronic artists of the modern era – The Human League, Art of Noise and A Certain Ratio. With a remarkable career that spans five decades, The Human League were the vanguard of the electronic new wave in the 70’s developing a sound that changed the face of pop forever. Support comes from 80’s synthpop innovators Art of Noise featuring Dudley/Jeczalik/Lanagan. They will reboot their classic album In Visible Silence. This will be a world premiere reworking of this ground breaking album and their first live performance in 17 years. To complete this Thursday stellar line up are A Certain Ratio.

Following the release of last year’s acclaimed Top 10 album Soulsville, singer songwriter and actress Beverley Knight announces a new UK Tour for summer 2017. Following a string of sold out gigs in the spring of 2016, and having completed a 6 month run in the smash hit West End musical The Bodyguard in January, Beverley is taking to the road again in her own right in June 2017.

Alternative pop experts Maximo Park announce UK tour dates for Spring this year. Starting at Birmingham O2 Institute 1 on May 5th, the tour takes in London’s Royal Festival Hall on May 12th before ending on May 19th at Manchester Albert Hall. The tour follows the 21st April release of blistering new album ‘Risk To Exist’.

In addition to the previously confirmed full-band tour in March, Laura Marling is pleased to announce a short UK solo run and will perform an additional five dates by herself – journeying on roads slightly less travelled. The English folk singer-songwriter is also set to release her sixth album ‘Semper Femina’ on Friday, 10th March.

Having just announced plans to release their first album in four years, Goldfrapp have also revealed a tour of the UK in March 2017. The shows – taking place in Oxford, Cambridge, Sheffield and London between 20th and 27th March – will precede the release of ‘Silver Eye’, the duo’s seventh album due for release on 31st March.

Interpol will celebrate the 15th Anniversary of their debut album ‘Turn On The Bright Lights’ by playing the record in its entirety during a run of European headline and festival dates this summer, which includes a night at London’s iconic Alexandra Palace on Friday 1st September 2017.
