What to Expect at This Year's BBC Proms in the Park

Join us in the scenic Hyde Park on the 9th September for a wonderful night of live music and entertainment at this year’s BBC Proms in the Park. As part of the world’s greatest classical music festival, Proms in the Park will be celebrating music the best it knows how with some of the most renowned artists and prestigious composers from across the UK coming together to put on a truly unique and unforgettable evening.

Headlining the event for the very first time this year is The Kinks frontman, award-winning Sir Ray Davies as you’ve never seen him before. Sir Ray will be joined by a host of soloist performers, including Elaine Paige and Gilbert O’Sullivan’, for a special, one-night-only, performance that is exclusive to the Proms.

Also on this year’s line-up are two of the UK’s most recognised pop groups; Steps and Texas. After regrouping in 2012 and releasing their latest album in April, Steps are back and ready to bring the party to this year’s Proms in the Park; whilst Glaswegian band Texas will be celebrating their critically acclaimed new album ‘Jump On Board’ – it will be irresistible to not dance along!

For all you theatre lovers, prepare to be transported into an all-singing, all-dancing world of irresistibly smooth 1940s jazz and dance moves that’ll sweep you off your feet; as the cast of Five Guys Named Moe will be performing hits from their award-winning West-End and Broadway musical. Directed by Clarke Peters, the man who brought you The Wire, and choreographed by Andrew Wight, known for Singin’ In The Rain and Guys & Dolls to name a few, Five Guys Named Moe is an unmissable theatre experience at this year’s Proms.
