Festival City Guide: The best things to do at MEO Sudoeste in Portugal

MEO Sudoeste

7th - 11th August 2018

Set in the beautiful village of Zambujeira do Mar in Portugal, MEO Sudoeste is the lively music festival and scenic beach holiday you must go to this summer. As one of the largest music festivals in Portugal, it's line-up is incredibly diverse and inclusive in it's acts - leaving something for everyone; an already killer line up of Marshmello, Shawn Mendes, Hardwell and Wizkid, with many more artists to come, has been announced so far!

Not only is the line-up impressive this year, the camping amenities are too. Camping opens up on 4th August to allow festival-goers to get properly settled in before the fun really begins, but you needn't worry about running out of food or clothes as the on-site community kitchen, laundry space, and grocery delivery service will have you covered the entire time! Those of you with Instagram accounts to keep looking fresh needn't fret either as the festival has free Wi-Fi across the entire venue.

Set on the serene coast of Alentejo, MEO Sudoeste is way more than just a music festival. Not only does it offer four days of rocking out to your favourite artists, it also includes the calm, paradise-like beaches and rugged cliffs which surround it; allowing you to wander off for a stroll along the shore, watch the sun setting against the waves, or go for a paddle with your mates. It's the perfect downtime away from the buzz of the festival. What's more, although it's only a five minute walk away, the festival runs free buses to the beach all day - so you'll never struggle to get there!

It’s the best of both worlds, an iconic festival with global headliners and a sun beach holiday rolled into one - Alexa, visitor of MEO Sudoeste 2017

If you're wishing to explore even further afield than the festival and beach then the local village is one of tranquil calmness, rich in culture and bursting with gastronomical gems. History buffs can find themselves wandering the quaint Chapel of Nossa Senhora do Mar and soaking in the ancient architecture; whilst foodies can get stuck into plates of fresh seafood from authentic, family-run restaurants.
