Trash Boat

This five-piece band of lads may only be three years old, but their popularity has been growing at a rapid pace. They’ve released two EPs and their debut album came out in 2016. They’ve supported New Found Glory and Beartooth, and performed at multiple festivals such as Slam Dunk, Reading & Leeds and Download. They’re also setting their sights a little further away, performing three mainland Europe shows after their UK tour.

Texas

Rock bands with female lead vocalists aren’t easy to come by, but this one from Glasgow has been making music since 1986. It’s been 28 years since their debut album release, ‘Southside’, and their debut single, ‘I Don’t Want a Lover’. Not only did the album reach number three in the UK album chart, but the track also reached number eight in the UK singles chart. Nine albums down the line and they’re embarking on another UK tour.

You may have been one of the unlucky lot to miss out on tickets, but you can bag two VIP packages at Usher Hall, Edinburgh on Saturday 23rd September here.

Mayday Parade

The American rock band taking the genre by storm worldwide have released six EPs and albums since they began back in 2005. Although the group started as pop punk, they’ve included many other influences through the years and the result is a more emo/pop punk/rock sound. They’re so influential that many fans have even got themselves tattoos dedicated to the band and their lyrics. If you fancy checking some of them out, have a look at their Facebook page where they regularly post pictures of these works of art.

The Pink Floyd Exhibition - Their Mortal Remains

If you’re a fan of the extremely successful and influential band, this exhibition is something you absolutely must see. With the three surviving band members involved in the creation, it’s an in depth look at the world of Pink Floyd. Not only will you be absorbed into the music, design and staging of the band, but there are also instruments, hand-written lyrics, music technology and much more. The exhibition gives an exciting, immersive and true representation of the band from the 1960’s to the present day.

It has proved so popular that most time slots have sold out, but two adult tickets can be found at the Victoria & Albert Museum in Kensington, London on Saturday 30th September here.

The Amazons

They may have formed in 2014, but this Reading based rock band have been garnering major attention this year. Not only were they included in BBC’s ‘Sound of 2017’, but they also appeared in MTV’s ‘Brand New 2017’ list, and that’s not all! NME, The Independent and BBC Radio 1 all named them a band to listen to this year. As it’s becoming more and more difficult for bands to get some recognition, The Amazons are managing to stand out from the crowd.

Their show at The Leadmill in Sheffield on Tuesday 3rd October may be sold out, but you can bag yourself two standing tickets here.
