After a hugely successful run in 2017, with the festival completely selling out, Bearded Theory Festival is not one to be missed in 2018. Set in the wonderfully scenic gardens of Catton Hall, each year Bearded Theory welcomes a variety of well-loved and recognised performers and artists to put on a killer weekend of entertainment. Last year’s line-up saw an impressive boast of acts, from Madness and Seasick Steve to Reverend and the Makers and Foy Vance; there was something everybody could dance along to. To top it off, the festival has also been greeted with an accolade of awards, from ‘UK’s Best Small Festival’ in 2013 to ‘UK’s Best Family Festival’ in 2016.

However what make’s Bearded Theory so special is not just it’s array of music acts, but the range of eccentric, family-orientated, and diverse entertainment to get stuck into. The festival openly prides itself on listening to its audience and with that has so much to offer for those of all ages, with all interests. Those of you with little ones are more than encouraged to come join the party, as the award-winning Children’s Village, and innovative on-site school, offers activities such as P.E classes from Derby County F.C, a ukulele jam, family yoga and an evening parade – just to name a few! Even teens have a dedicated area, with the Rogues Hideout offering DJ workshops, graffiti classes and a chill-out zone.

Those looking for a more peaceful experience can immerse themselves in The Kettle At The End Of The Universe area. Brand new for 2018’s festival, this area is set to specialise in everything story-telling; from poetry to spoken-word, you’ll be on the edge of your seat or engrossed with the depths of another world at The Kettle At The End Of The Universe. Also new to 2018 is the 600-seated Circus! Fun for all the family, the circus prides itself on high ethical standards whilst still curating a highly entertaining show. Running four shows a week, you’ll have plenty of chances to be amazed at the Bearded Theory’s brand new circus!
