The Mountain Goats
American indie folk band The Mountain Goats have been making music for close to 30 years so it’s safe to say they’re basically experts at the art now. Although the band currently consists of four members, they have collaborated with numerous other artists such as Franklin Bruno and Kaki King. The band has released 16 studio albums so far with the most recent, ‘Goths’ coming out earlier this year.
If you missed out on their Glasgow show on Monday 9th October, there are two general admission tickets up for grabs here.
Hippo Campus
The resident festival performing indie band have appeared at the likes of Reading and Leeds, Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo. Although the band is only five years old, they’ve already supported the likes of The Mowgli’s and Modest Mouse, and since 2015, have been repeatedly headlined their own tours. They also released their first full-length album, ‘Landmark’ earlier this year following three well-received EPs.
Their Bristol show on Monday 9th October may be sold out, but you can bag two general admission tickets here.
Bill Bailey Work in Progress
Musician, radio presenter, author, actor and funny man. Is there anything this Somerset-born guy can’t do? The programme ‘100 Greatest Stand-Ups’ named him the seventh greatest stand up in both 2007 and 2010 so his comedic talent clearly hasn’t been hindered by his busy career. He’s embarked on 12 tours, and has appeared in over 30 films and TV shows. His popularity simply grows every year, and his current stint in London is sold out.
However, if you’d like to see him at Leicester Square Theatre, London on Thursday 12th October, there are four tickets up for sale here.
Beth Ditto
Although you may know her from the band Gossip, Beth Ditto is now making it on her own after deciding to focus on fashion and her solo career. She appeared on NME’s Cool List in 2006, received a nomination for NME’s Sexiest Woman of the Year award in 2007 and won Glamour’s International Artist of the Year award in 2008. She also released her first solo album earlier this year, which reached the top 50 in the UK Albums Chart.
If you missed out on tickets for her Manchester show on Tuesday 17th October, fear not, you can get your hands on two general admission tickets here.
Marmozets
Rock bands emerging from the UK aren’t rare, but rock bands emerging from the UK with a female lead singer are. However, that’s not the only thing that sets this Yorkshire group apart from others. They’ve been making music for around 10 years now, which shows that they’ve stood the test of time. But not only that, they’ve had the chance to change and adapt their music over the years, gaining them their own personality and individuality within the genre.
Don’t worry if you didn’t get tickets to their Hull show on Tuesday 17th October, you can get yourself a general admission here.
