Hailed for her unique 'folktronica' sound, Beth Orton is the award-winning singer-songwriter that you must go and see this year.
Kick-starting her career in 1993 with debut album 'Superpinkymandy', Orton was quick to make her mark on the music industry with the LP featuring renowned, and Grammy Award winning, electronica artist William Orbit. Following this Beth has only gone from strength to strength, featuring on tracks by The Chemical Brothers - such as 'Alive Alone' and 'The State We're In'; and releasing six more albums - five of which hit the Top 40 UK album charts.
Her latest album 'Kidsticks' has made an artistically and musically brave turn, in that she decided to experiment with purely electronica sounds - switching the acoustic guitar for keyboards and synthesizers. The album not only received commercial acclaim, but also critical, with The Guardian rewarding it four out of five stars and Clash Magazine, eight out of ten.
