Returning to Cheshire's 1,000 acre Deer Park for its 20th year from 18th - 22nd July, is RHS Flower Show Tatton Park. From the picture-perfect gardens to the colourful array of plants, this is an event no nature-lover will want to miss. There will also be one-of-a-kind shopping and plenty of new features to explore from the scary to the spectacular!
Here’s a round-up some of the highlights planned for this year's show…
The Bee Hive Theatre
This brand new feature, set in a spectacular dome shines a spotlight on the importance of bees. You'll be given the chance to learn new skills with talks and workshops on bee identification, planting for pollinators and more. But that's not all, you can even learn how to make honey cocktails!
Celebrating Northern Spirit
This beautiful floral tribute to Northern spirit in The BBC North West Tonight Garden is inspired by Tony Walsh’s poem ‘Up Here’. It champions the strength and resilience of the North West following the tragic Manchester Bombing in 2017.
The Poisonous Garden
Do you dare to step inside the new and unusual exhibit full of some of the most weird and wonderful deadly poisonous plants? If you do, you'll be greeted by plants and flowers with hidden deadly charms dripping from the ceiling in ‘the poison tunnel’, but you must try to resist the lure of the hungry carnivorous plants!
Family Fun
There’s plenty of activities to keep children entertained in the new festival-themed Green Fields Family Area, including the Colouring Garden, Woodland Crafts Centre, gardening workshops and Diggerland! And don’t forget – kids go free!*
The Flower School
If you want to get hands-on, this new experience is for you. There will be talks and workshops on everything floral from flower crowns to growing your own cut flower patch. Local florists and nurseries will be creating seven foot high flower towers, giving show goers the opportunity to vote for their favourite on social media throughout the week.
RHS Tatton Turns Twenty
No birthday would be complete without a party! There'll be a colourful, floral parade to celebrate two decades of spectacular flower shows at Tatton, with the festivities taking centre stage at the show on Friday 20 July.
Show manager Isobel Coulter, commented: “This year is set to be one of the most exciting we have ever seen at RHS Tatton Park as we celebrate a whopping 20 years of a colourful, friendly and fun day out!
“Full of innovative design, hands-on gardening, youth in horticulture, and some of the best growers in the country, 2018 encapsulates exactly what RHS Tatton is all about.
“We look forward to welcoming visitors old and new to join us for a bumper birthday celebration!”
RHS Flower Show Tatton Park will run from 18 – 22 July 2018.
