Indie household names following the release of their iconic single ‘A-Punk’ back in 2008; Vampire Weekend have been a non-stop force of indie-pop magic ever since.
Record-breaking and hit-making, this three-piece have had a busy 11 or so years. With three albums under their belt; four prestigious awards – including a Grammy; breaking the record for first week vinyl sales; and a whole host of impressive collab’ing; it’s no wonder the band haven’t toured the UK since 2013.
Six years later and Vampire Weekend are back, and with a fourth album ‘Father Of The Bride’ in the midst plus UK tour, we couldn’t be more excited. Having released a few singles recently to get us warmed up, this latest album is already promising to be an exciting hit – with tracks featuring Steve Lacy, former member Rostam Batmanglij, and Haruomi Hosono.
The four new singles have already received critical acclaim, from publications such as Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, and DIY who define the tracks as “…refining, expanding their palate subtly and gorgeously, and putting a smacking big grin on everyone’s weary, worn…faces.”
With so much positive energy surrounding ‘Father Of The Bride’ even before it’s release, we can’t wait to see it in it’s full form.
Don’t miss Vampire Weekend as they celebrate the release of their new album, and return to the UK, this November!
