London-based two piece APRE are in our Artist Spotlight this month! Touring across the UK in some of the most iconic venues, including Nottingham's Bodega and Scala in London, find out why APRE are the indie band to watch in 2020.
True creative brothers, Charlie and Jules appear as inspired by the socially conscious, observational lyricism of Pet Shop Boys as the alternative indie of Foals – often masking darker truths behind the band’s innately massive-sounding songs.
Still a group in relative infancy since launching in April 2018 with track 'All Yours', APRE may have started life as an outlet for escapism – the boys did, after all, meet in a West London chess club – but across 4 eclectic but wildly creative EPS to date, APRE have also found their voice.
Their latest single 'Your Heart's Like A Jungle', released this week, reflects APRE's well-loved style: urgent, anthemic and lyrically raw. Examining the strains of a modern relationship, the band increasingly seem to capture times of crisis - whether emotional or generational, and it's this storytelling that makes the band just so engaging. Take a listen to this new single today and fall in love with APRE.
