Comedian Spotlight: Flo & Joan



Multi-award winning British musical comedy duo Flo & Joan - made up of sisters Nicola and Rosie Dempsey - have been steadily building acclaim in the comedy world.

Nicola and Rosie trained in sketch and improv in Chicago and Toronto, where Nicola was a musical director at the Second City Toronto’s Training Centre and Rosie was a member of their inaugural House Company.

After performances on shows such as Live at the Apollo and The Royal Variety Performance 2019, the pianist and percussionist have since performed to sold out audiences around the world. They also have an hour long special streaming on Amazon Prime.

The duo most notably first appeared in the public consciousness with their 2016 viral hit song, which to date has received 50 million views across social media.

The song appeared on Funny or Die, Comedy Central and the AV Club. Flo and Joan have also written and performed songs for shows including Horrible Histories, Rob Delaney’s Stand Up Central and more.

Having gained praise from the likes of The List, The Telegraph and The Sunday Times, Flo and Joan recently premiered their fourth Edinburgh show, 'Before the Screaming Starts, which completely sold out its run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

They've also added extra shows to keep up with demand and is now touring nationally through 2020.
