This week we are throwing it back to the indie heyday with The Killers! Following on from their spectacular Glastonbury headline set last year, the band embark on their HUGE 'Imploding the Mirage' stadium tour this summer.
With five consecutive chart-topping studio albums under their belt, The Killers are considered to be one of the biggest rock bands of the 21st century, but what about similar bands who are also heading out on tour this year? We've compiled a list below so you don't have to search very hard, make sure you grab tickets while you can!
Kings of Leon
When: June, July, August 2020
Where: London, Newcastle, Leeds, Cornwall
The Tennessee-bred quartet debuted in 2003 and have since cemented themselves as of indie music’s major players. Following the release of seven albums and a string of number one’s, the band are returning to the UK after three years this summer with some outdoor headline gigs, plus a performance at Boardmasters Festival.
The Libertines
When: July 2020
Where: Kent
After arriving onto the music scene in the early 00’s, The Libertines, led my iconic frontmen Carl Barât and Peter Doherty, managed to change the face of British indie music with songs such as ‘What a Waster’, ‘Don’t Look Back Into The Sun’, 'Can't Stand Me Now' and 'The Likely Lads'. Don't miss them perform at Rochester Castle in Kent this summer!
Stereophonics
When: March and July 2020
Where: Various venues
The legendary rock band have a busy schedule this year, with a huge tour across the UK taking place. The band rose to fame in 1997 with their debut album ‘Word Gets Around’, and since then the Welsh rockers have gone on to release many highly regarded albums and performed incredible live shows and headline festival sets. They are heading out on tour this year, with some shows already sold out, so don't miss the chance to snap tickets up!
Mystery Jets
When: April, May and July 2020
Where: Various venues and Live at Leeds
Mystery Jets arrived on the indie music scene just a few years after The Killers. Throughout their career they have released six albums (with a new one due for release this April), collaborated with Laura Marling and performed many a live gig and festival. They head out on tour in April and will also be performing at Live at Leeds.
Feeder
When: April, May, July and August 2020
Where: Various venues
Feeder are ready to come full circle. More than two decades after their first show the band are reinvigorated, tapping into the essential, primal energy that first inspired them. The rockers head out on tour in April and will be appearing at festivals throughout the summer.
Catfish & The Bottlemen
When: May 2020
Where: London, Swansea
The Welsh indie band haven’t really stopped since they released their first album, 'The Balcony’ back in 2014 which subsequentially reached number 10 in the UK Albums Chart and went Platinum. This May they will be playing two huge shows in London and Swansea, plus they'll also be headlining Neighbourhood Weekender! Don't miss out!
