Artist Spotlight: IAMDDB

Sounds like: Mahalia, Nao, Joy Crookes, Jorja Smith

Our artist spotlight this month is the incredibly talented Diana De Brito, aka IAMDDB. If you've not heard of her, you might want to continue reading...

The Mancunian rapper and singer has already released three albums, was named in Forbes '30 under 30' list last year, was nominated for BBC's Sound of 2018 and has even supported Lauryn Hill on tour.

The singer-songwriter fuses together soul, jazz, hip-hop and R&B to create her sound, self-describing her music as 'urban jazz'. IAMDDB's lyrics are about love, everyday experiences and above all about empowerment - the art of being and acting for yourself.

IAMDDB grew up in Portugal before moving to Manchester at a young age. She cites her early musical influence as Bob Marley, and since the age of seven, she's been writing her own songs. Now she's found her niche, she's being dubbed the future of jazz.

Where can I see her on tour?

She's heading to Bristol, London, Birmingham, and Manchester in November, with limited tickets on sale now.
