Flix Drive In Movies are coming to venues in Surrey, Kent and Dorset this summer. The team at Flix will bring you a new twist to an old classic concept - an array of Hollywood blockbusters, with high-quality sound and vision, great food and drink and all from the safety and comfort of your own car.
In Surrey, Drive In will take place at Casa Zilli in Bletchingley. Celebrity chef Aldo Zilli has created a menu especially for Flix. So, you can park up and enjoy some fine Italian hospitality while enjoying your favourite films.

Tell us how this whole event and association with Flix Drive In came about.
I know the team behind Flix Drive In really well. So, it has been a match made in heaven and I’m really excited about this month’s event in Surrey. We have been working together for 20 years now. With their event contacts and expertise and my passion for excellent food and great service, it was a natural fit and has come together really quickly and efficiently.
I am fortunate to have the space to host such an event and wanted to put on something extra-special for the people of Surrey after these trying past few months. I have been building my new Casa Zilli concept during lockdown and am really looking forward to opening my doors and giving our guests the full Zilli/Flix experience.
How has lockdown been for you and please tell us a little more about the Casa Zilli concept?
My wife Nikki and I have been working hard for months to bring this new venture and passion to fruition. Casa Zilli is an exciting mix of unique Italian herb inspired a candle collection and naturally the luxury of great home cooking.
During lockdown we have been offering restaurant quality food from our home “neighbourhood kitchen” for pick-up and delivered takeaways for our local customers, and I’m really excited to say we can now roll it out to a wider audience. These movie days and nights will be the perfect chance for our guests to see what we have on offer and combine it for a night, or a day, to really remember.
So what will be on offer when you open the gates for Flix customers?
We have a great space for 120 cars for each show, a huge, top-quality screen, great refreshments, and some real Hollywood blockbusters for all the family to enjoy. We have a socially distanced, allocated parking space for each car, scannable tickets at the entrance for increased safety, a large, high-quality LED screen, suitable for all types of weather and Ofcom-licenced sound direct to your own in-car system for maximum fun.
Then, of course, there will be some of my award-wining food to really add to the movie glamour feeling for a truly special day out for your family and friends!
Can you tell us a little more about the exact location and dates?
This is a chance for people to come and experience a real slice of the legendary Italian hospitality. I have loved my move to the Surrey countryside, and the extra space has given me the opportunity to throw open my doors and show people what the Zilli experience is all about.
The event is being held in a large field at my property in the heart of leafy Surrey just off the M23 and A25 between Nutfield and Bletchingley. So guests can come to Casa Zilli, experience excellent food from our new summer menu, watch some fabulous films before saying “arrivederci” after a truly memorable time.
What films are on offer to your guests?
We have films and fun for all the family. The early showing is firmly aimed at the little ones with family favourites Lion King, Up, Little Mermaid, Wall-E and Aladdin on offer and starting at 11am. The matinees, which start at 3.30pm, are designed for more upbeat fun with classic singalongs such as Mamma Mia, Rocketman, Grease and Bohemian Rhapsody available. And the evening extravaganzas at 8pm for the grown-ups will let you pick from classics old and new such as Fight Club, 1917, Pulp Fiction, Superbad, and Joker. The shows at Casa Zilli run from July 29th to Aug 2nd.
And you have a little something extra on offer on the night too; tell us about it.
It’s something really close to my heart – we’re going to run a tribute every day to Ennio Morricone, the Italian composer who sadly passed away recently, and who gave me the soundtrack to my life. My first ever film when I was just nine years old was For A Few Dollars More, which was one of Ennio’s famous soundtracks. I went and watched it with my brother and was awestruck; we drove home on his Vespa through our local streets just loving life, but we broke down and had to walk home for miles. We got home really late but it’s a wonderful memory of my childhood, and I have carried his amazing music with me my whole life ever since.
