Start the New Year with some sparkle, with the extension of Waddesdon’s hugely popular Winter Light programme, from 7th-31st Jan 2021.
Take an enchanted journey through Waddesdon’s gardens awash with colour and dazzling illuminations, with evening openings until 10pm.
As twilight falls, follow the Winter Light trail and see the Pleasure Grounds transformed with dramatic colour and playful installations. Stroll under the stars beneath illuminated tree canopies and look out for the valley of flickering flames, and dozens of suspended orbs in a walk-through musical light show. Walk around a structure of colourful bars of light forming geometric shapes and watch dancing lights across the tree-line with our ‘Son et lumière’, choreographed in time to Handel’s Hornpipe from the Water Music suite.
See the spectacle of the Manor’s façade illuminated with dancing lights set to festive music. Two unique shows will alternate every five minutes, accompanied by a Christmas medley and Handel’s 'Joy to the World’.
Wander down the woodland walk to the Stables and find the route illuminated with work created by children from around 35 local schools on a theme of hope, called ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’. Once at the Stables, capture the perfect moment in a giant 20ft twinkling bauble and encounter Parallels, a short performance installation of parallel lights in the Coach House, set to a remix of Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons ‘Winter’.
Make your visit extra special with a four-course Winter Light dinner in the historic Manor Restaurant, served with an optional flight of three wines specially selected to complement the menu by Waddesdon’s Wine Advisor.
