Our 2021 Family Festival Guide



Summer is edging closer and closer, and this year there are plenty of festivals taking place throughout the country not just for you but for the whole family to enjoy.  We've put together a list of some of our favourites below...

 

Kaleidoscope Festival

When? 24th July

Where? Alexandra Palace, London

Featuring huge live performances, mesmerising sunset DJ sets, punchy stand-up comedy and immersive theatre, Kaleidoscope takes place in the beautiful Ally Pally this summer.  The festival provides family fun with a dedicated mini-festival for the kids, designed to keep curious minds occupied with pop-up theatre, face painting, magic workshops and more!

 

 

Rock Oyster

When? 30th July - 1st August

Where? Dinham House, St Minver, Cornwall

Overlooking the stunning Camel Estuary, Rock Oyster Festival returns this year with an excellent lineup of food, music and wellbeing for the whole family. Loads of activities are available for the children to enjoy, including 'Fat Hen Foraging' walks, 'Nosey Hedgehog Puppetry', 'Surfari', 'Badger Forest School', 'Sea Creature Fashion Show', 'Circus Skills', 'Mini Yoga' and more!

 

 

 

Splendour

When? 24th July

Where? Wollaton Park, Nottingham

Taking place in the beautiful grounds of Wollaton Park, Splendour is a music festival with a lineup that includes The Vamps, Rick Astley, Supergrass, Richard Ashcroft. It's not just about music though, there will be craft areas, fairground rides and much more!

 

 

 

The North Yorkshire Music Festival

When? Friday 13th -

Where? Canada Fields Park, Northallerton

The North Yorkshire Music Festival is a three-day celebration of open-air music and attractions with the option of camping. On Sunday, the festival dedicates a whole day to the little ones, with a family day lineup featuring 'Peppa Pig', 'DINO live!', 'Military Wives Choirs', all hosted by Sam & Mark (as seen as CBBC).

 

 

Hale Barns Carnival

When? Friday 16th - Sunday 18th July

Where? St Ambrose Playing Fields, Hale Barns

Live music, food, supercars, animal displays, Funfair, pop up theatre and more are on display at Hale Barns Carnival. Plus see Odyssey, Proms with Russell Watson, Katrina of the Waves and more live on stage!

 

 

 

 

Gateways

When? 6th - 8th August

Where? Aireville Park, Skipton

Gateways is the ultimate family weekend, taking place in Yorkshire's stunning Aireville Park. The weekend is filled with live music, an outdoor cinema, a fairground, the very best street food vendors, bars, stalls and so much more. Feeder, Lightning Seeds, Razorlight, Scouting for Girls and more will be performing live at the event!

 

 

 

 

Black Deer Festival

When? 25th - 27th June

Where? Eridge Park, Kent

This indie festival is on a mission to not only bring real roots-inspired music to the UK, but also the way of life. The lineup this year includes Van Morrison, Wilco, The Waterboys, Robert Plant and many more. At Black Deer, there's also a festival within a festival, one in which the young take centre stage. In this land of theirs, there are endless opportunities to explore... whether that be music, craft and the great outdoors.

 

 

CarFest & Retro CarFest

When? 23rd -25th July / 13th - 15th August / 27th - 29th August

Where? Bolesworth Estate, Cheshire / Bicester Heritage, Bicester / Laverstoke Park Farm, Overton, Hampshire

The biggest family fundraising festival in the UK is back this year celebrating their 10th birthday! CarFest North and South will take place across two weekends, filled with activities for every member of the family, including the fastest and loudest cars, family fun and the best music including performances from Nile Rogers & Chic, Rag'n'Bone Man, The Charlatans more! PLUS CarFest Retro is a celebration of the 60s, 70s, 80s, with a splash of the 90s!

 

Foodies Festival

When? 9th July - 3rd October

Where? Various venues across the UK

See MasterChef Champion Thomas Frake and Great British Bake-Off Winner Candice Brown live on stage in the Chefs Theatre, watch the amazing headliners Sophie Ellis Bexter and Scouting for Girls on the live music stage, and taste your way around the award-winning Street Food vendors. Children will have fun finding their taste buds and learning to cook in the Kids Cookery Theatre, and enjoy creative play in the Kidzone.

 

 

Pub in the Park

When? 18th June - 19th September

Where? Various venues throughout the UK

The biggest food and music festival tour in the UK is back this year at different locations across the summer. Each festival celebrates everything there is to love about the glorious British pub; delicious food, award-winning chefs, chart-topping music and much more, perfect for all the family!

 

 

 

Latitude

When? 22nd - 25th July

Where? Henham Park, Beccles, Suffolk

The four-day festival in the beautiful Suffolk countryside has confirmed Bastille, Snow Patrol and First Aid Kit will be performing. Alongside music, the festival is also heavily focused on its theatre and arts programme and is perfect for family and friends alike.
