5 Minutes with Jack Savoretti

Former poet-turned-acoustic singer/songwriter Jack Savoretti is back with a brand new album, 'Europiana', out later this month. The album (which he worked on with the legendary Nile Rogers) is his fourth, following the release of UK number one hit 'Singing with Strangers' in 2019.

The album release will be proceeded by a UK tour next year. We had quick chat with Jack about getting back on the road and more...

What was it like working with Nile Rogers on ‘Who’s Hurting Who’?

It was fantastic, he's been a mentor for me. To get his blessing for the whole Europiana concept was wonderful, he's the reason why European music changed.

What are your 2020/2021 albums of the year?

Half Moon Run - On & On

Clara Luciani - Cœur

Claire Laffut - Hiroshima

How have you been preparing for your upcoming tour?

I've been keeping fit and healthy.

What are you most excited for about getting back out on the road?

I'm looking forward to getting back in the room, rehearsing, playing new music to our fans, performing with my band who recorded the album with me at Abbey Road.

Your upcoming album, ‘Europiana’ is out next month. Can you tell us what inspired the album, and what sound we can expect from it?

Music from my youth, holidays growing up, listening to great music in bars and on the beach...escapism
