Taking inspiration from Bon Iver, Phoebe Bridgers and everyone in between, BBC Music's Sound of 2021 runner-up, Holly Humberstone, recently announced a journey across the pond to celebrate the release of her upcoming EP ‘The Walls Are Way Too Thin’ and embark on her first ever US tour in October 2021!
With the anticipated EP due 5th November, the rising star has already signed with two major labels (Polydor Records and Darkroom/Interscope Records). She was picked her up off the back of her debut EP ‘Falling Asleep At The Wheel’ which hit the shelves in early 2020. In just one year, Holly has carved a name for herself in the industry scoring over 100 million streams worldwide and landing a publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Group.
Last May, Holly teased listeners with the release of her eponymous title track 'TWAWTT' and it didn’t go unnoticed. Gaining praise from all kinds of artistic talent, Holly’s sought-after song writing skills later caught the attention of celebs like The 1975's Matt Healy, Everything Everything and Benjamin Francis Leftwich who have since collaborated with Holly on various chart-topping tracks. We spoke to Producer Rob Milton (Easy Life, Maisie Peters) who said:
"Working with Holly has been an incredible journey and what we've achieved so far makes her promising future in the industry all the more exciting."
NME aptly coined the track as “a perfect storm of hope, selfhood and pain” and we can’t help but agree. 'TWAWTT' shows no limits to Holly’s mastery of pop-infused hooks, dreamy vocals and darkened lyricism. The song serves as a welcome prelude of what’s to come, so watch this space.
