Artist of the Month: Tom Grennan

From a sold-out headline tour of North America and two of Australia, countless festival appearances, a number one album, four UK Top 10 singles in 2022 alone, an Ivor-Novello nomination and the announcement of his biggest UK tour to date, it’s clear to see why Tom Grennan is an artist living his best creative life and one that no-one should forget easily. Having had an incredible career so far and a huge upcoming March 2023 tour, we’ve named Tom Grennan our ‘Artist of the Month’ for October.

Read on as we deep dive into his career and musical catalogue.

Bedford’s Tom Grennan first found fame back in 2016 as a guest vocalist on Chase & Status’ track ‘All Goes Wrong’, since then the artist has gone on to release three studio albums and secure himself many Top 10 charting singles.

Lighting Matches

In 2017, the year prior to his debut album release, Tom Grennan began making a name for himself in the industry. The singer-songwriter was shortlisted for the MTV Brand New Award, performed at the MTV Showcase and featured and duetted with many well-known names in music, in the same year.

July 2018 saw Tom release his debut album, ‘Lighting Matches’ which peaked at number five in the UK Album Charts. Earlier that same year he embarked on his first ever UK tour in support of the album. Tipped as one of 2018’s most promising young upstarts, ‘Lighting Matches’ received great praise upon release. It is a vulnerable but charming and assured debut. Combing indie, pop and dance it’s definitely a versatile record that appeals to different audiences and listeners.

Evering Road

Evering Road’ – the album that earnt Tom his first number one charting record was dropped only last year in March 2021 but quickly began Tom Grennan’s breakthrough artist journey in the UK. His now platinum single, ‘Little Bit of Love’ taken from this second album proved to be a popular one, giving Tom his first Top Ten single and surpassing a massive one million UK chart sales. The album showcases his musical growth and his husky, gravelly voice that we all now know well. It’s a rich, replay-able second offering which quite rightly has made him a name to know!

What If & Maybes

Earlier this month, Tom announced the news of an upcoming third studio album ‘What Ifs & Maybes’ due to arrive in spring 2023. One his official website, he has said on the album: “It’s about going with your gut, not your head, because you never know what’s going to happen. I’m not afraid to jump into the unknown – because it’s exciting! It’s about rolling the dice and living your best life with nothing to lose. I’m in a new creative space, and I know I’m finally the artist I want to be.” We can’t wait to see what the album brings.
