Although being self-appointed as a "band in their infancy", over the past five years, Junodream have already carved out a diverse - yet defined - and undoubtedly unique sound for themselves. Echoing stalwarts of art-rock such as Radiohead and Pink-Floyd - both cited by the band as a primary influence - they describe their songs as an ode to 'alienation in the 21st century', which, upon listening, appears to be a purposed theme throughout their catalogue, both harmonically and lyrically.
In a tale as old as time, the band met at school - but unlike many, ultimately reconvened after university to fully focus their attention toward music. Hence, in a small village in Hampshire, Junodream was born, and soon after, released their first offering, 'Galactica'. This was closely followed by their most streamed and critically acclaimed release to date - 'To the Moon', which has since amassed over 14 million streams on Spotify alone, and resulted, alongside consequent releases, in praise from several major publications - perhaps most notably being named by The Independent as one of their 15 bands to listen to in 2020.
Since their debut 'Galactica', they have released a series of consecutive singles and EP's - each of which appears to have offered a distinctive twist on what remains very much to be the 'Junodream' sound; A sonic journey that has now culminated into what will be Junodream's debut LP - 'Pools of Colour'. In accordance to the band's aforementioned self-description, 'Pools of Colour' will 'address the dilation of space in modern life'; "The threads that bind us have been thinning lately", the band explains - "Emotional, social and physical distances are widening between people; loneliness, anger and anxiety fill these gaps. We want to capture that idea in this album."
'Pools of Colour' will be available on the 26th of January 2024. The first two singles from the album 'The Beach' and 'Death Drive' are available now - you can watch the video for 'Death Drive' below.
In support of their debut LP, Junodream will be playing a seven date tour across the UK in February 2024.
