Spotlight On: Kings Of Leon

Kings Of Leon are heading over to UK shores this June - July for arena shows in Leeds, Birmingham, Glasgow, Nottingham and Manchester, with support from The Vaccines. Alongside fan favourites and their smash hits, the shows will give fans a chance to hear tracks from their brand new album 'Can We Please Just Have Fun' live for the first time!

Released on May 10th, this is their ninth studio album, and their first since they left their long-term record deal with RCA. Clue is in the name here, the album is all about the band trying something new, and you guessed it, having some fun! They're running wild on this record while returning to those gritty rock origins, and on a production side took control of all creative elements of the record from the music to the artwork and videos. Caleb's vocals are just as strong as ever, alongside those incredible basslines from Jared, and the album as a whole is just as enjoyable for the listener as it seems it was to make.

Since their debut in 2003, Kings of Leon have become a multi-platinum selling band with a reputation as one of the prominent rock acts of the 2000s and beyond. With Caleb on guitar and vocals, Jared on bass, Nathan on drums and Matthew on guitar, they have released nine and sold over 20 million albums and nearly 30 million singles world wide - five of which have landed on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.

They emerged from Nashville with their raw and gritty sound on their debut album 'Youth and Young Manhood' back in July 2023, infusing their southern rock sound into the indie and alternative scenes. Though it was their sophomore album 'Aha Shake Heartbreak' that propelled them into more mainstream realms with hits like 'The Bucket'.

With each new album they continued to evolve and explore new sonic territories, and it was 2007's 'Because Of The Times' and 2008's 'Only By The Night' which saw them established as one of rock's most dynamic acts. Tracks like 'Sex On Fire' and 'Use Somebody' defined that era of music and have stood the test of time, earning them Grammys, a dedicated fanbase and mass critical acclaim. The following years saw some challenges for the band with internal tensions and other personal matters, though they made waves on their return in 2013 with 'Mechanical Bull' and 'Walls' in 2016 reaffirming their status in the contemporary rock scene, and have continued to become masters of the art as the years have gone on.
