Since the release of their debut album Cub in late 2022, London based four piece Wunderhorse have firmly cemented themselves as one of the most promising and exciting new bands in the UK.
From radio dominance with breakout singles 'Leader of the Pack' and 'Purple' to landmark performances at Glastonbury and London's Kentish Town Forum, they have attracted somewhat of a cult following in recent months - many of whom were introduced to the band as they performed alongside the likes of Fontaines D.C and Pixies on their UK tours.
Touted from the very beginning for their breath-taking live performances, fuelled by lead singer Jacob Slater's Jeff Buckley-esque demeanour, the band decided to converge their raw, nostalgic live sound with their studio recordings - resulting in their upcoming sophomore album, Midas.
With Grammy Award-winning producer Craig Silvey (The Rolling Stones, The National, Florence and The Machine) at the helm for the new album, in the same studio that Nirvana recorded In Utero, singles 'Midas', 'July' and 'Silver' offer us a compelling insight into the divergent yet familiar sound of the upcoming record. Echoing the philosophies of those who recorded in this room before them, lead-singer Jacob Slater had the following to say about the bands approach to recording Midas - “it's not supposed to be perfect; it’s supposed to be a snapshot, even if it is a bit of an ugly portrait. That's how it was then, and that's how you're gonna see it.”
