We spoke to Áine earlier this week to find out more about her as an artist and what fans can expect from this highly anticipated tour.

To set the tone, tell us a bit about yourself.

I’m a singer songwriter from Cambridge, but I’m based in London now. I write songs about heartbreak, relationships, friendships and the chaos of being in your twenties. I have been lucky enough to play shows with the likes of Sam Smith, Hozier and James Bay, and I’m so excited to be heading out on my debut headline tour this October! I love playing live and can’t wait to sing all my songs with everyone! I’m hugely inspired by pop and folk artists like Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Noah Kahan, whilst also being really inspired by country music and the likes of Avery Anna and Kelsea Ballerini.

This is your debut headline Tour! What can fans expect from the shows on this tour?

They can expect a fun evening of music, with some big happy sing along moments and some emotional ballads. I pride myself on the fact that my gigs are a very safe space for everyone to sing, scream and feel all the emotions they want to feel. The atmosphere is always so electric and welcoming, and so many people come alone and make friends. It really is such a wonderful experience for me as an artist.

Are there any songs you’re really looking forward to playing live?

Can I say all of them?! I love playing World’s Most Famous Mistake live because I always close my headline shows with it and it’s just a super fun song to bop around onstage to. I’m really excited to play TALES OF A TWENTY SOMETHING live too!

We know on tour you always have a book in your bag! What will it be on the Tales of a Twenty Something tour?

I’m just about to start the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas as I’ve been recommended it 100 times, so that’ll be my tour read! We’re also doing a book swap in VIP, so it’ll be amazing to get everyone else book recommendations.

What part of touring do you enjoy the most?

Honestly all of it. I look forward to it everyday that I’m not doing it, and it truly is such a blessing when I get to go on tour. I’ve never done my own tour before, so this is even more exciting. I just can’t wait to meet everyone!

You’ve been championed as Future Pop by Mollie King on BBC Radio 1 – what does having their backing mean to you?

Oh my goodness it means everything!! As a teenager I went to see The Saturdays in concert, and was OBSESSED! They were one of the first CDs I ever bought from HMV, and I just loved their music. So to have Mollie champion my music all these years later is the coolest thing ever!

Tales Of A Twenty Something has been out for almost a month now – is the reaction what you had hoped for?

Any time anyone says they like a song of mine, or cover it, or post about it, I have to pinch myself. I started writing music in my bedroom and playing it to my friends and housemates. For strangers on the internet to tell me they love my music, I’m the luckiest girl! This EP means so much to me and to see other people love it is the coolest thing.

What kind of emotions or messages do you hope listeners take away from your new music?

All I can hope for is that whoever is listening to my music relates to it in some kind of way, and they find some form of positivity in it. Whether that be joy, or being able to cry about a breakup, or sending THE SISTERHOOD to their girls group chat. I just want my music to live on past me and into other peoples lives.

Out of all your songs, which would you say is your favorite to perform live?

World’s Most Famous Mistake for sure. Everyone sings along and it’s such a party!

Make sure not to miss out on seeing Áine live!
