Spotlight On: Monobloc

Monobloc is an exciting new project formed by two friends - vocalist Timothy Waldron and Michael Silverglade on bass - with a shared ear for merging pop sensibilities, with a distinctly metropolispost-punk attitude. With Zack Pockrose on drums, and guitarists Ben Scofield and Nina Lüders, the bands strengths lie in their innate gift of storytelling; pairing texturally rich, visceral and emotional detail, with a minimalist instrumentation that sits as confidently alongside some of NYC’s artistic greats, as it does in its own lane entirely.

Having released third single ‘Irish Goodbye’ only last month, the collective are heading to Manchester for a live date on Friday 8th November.

As their catchy, indie-pop single ‘Where Is My Garden’ dropped in July 2024, Monobloc are a band on the rise and ones to watch. They already have a thriving live show presence in the US and are at the start of doing the same in the UK.

With their even more anthemic tune ‘I’m Just Trying To Love You’ also under their belts for 2024, their sound is an unmissable and recognisable one. The track starts slow but with its incredibly catchy guitar riffs and drum beats it’s one that sticks in your head and showcases Monobloc’s ambition to be a recognised indie-pop-rock band. A masterclass in heart-on-sleeve adolescence, ‘I’m Just Trying To Love You’ is equal parts new-age indie, and timeless.

With a whole lot still on the horizon and to be discovered about Monobloc it’s an exciting time for the band and their fans.

Give them a listen here and don’t miss out on getting your tickets to see them live next month!
