To mark the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution, Inside Pussy Riot is an immersive, theatrical experience which re-tells the story of the post-punk, feminist art collective group Pussy Riot. Fighting for equality, democracy and LGBTQ rights, the women of Pussy Riot staged protests within Russia by donning their iconic brightly coloured balaclavas and singing punk anthems to inspire change and musically share their beliefs. However, the group faced brutal consequences when three members, Nadezha Tolokonnikovva, Maria Alyokhina and Yekaterina Samutsevich, were arrested and eventually imprisoned after performing within Moscow’s Cathedral of Christ the Savior church.
From the award-winning theatre company Les Enfants Terribles and Pussy Riot's own Nadezha Tolokonnikovva, Inside Pussy Riot re-tells this group’s struggle for freedom by encouraging you to put your own balaclava on and immerse yourself within the harsh reality of Pussy Riot’s imprisonment. Prepare for an eye-opening experience that will shock, surprise and allow you to fully understand these activist’s experiences as you go through the journey of activism, the judicial system, imprisonment and uprising.
Seeing is believing, so join the revolution and buy your tickets today for the incredible Inside Pussy Riot exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery, London; performances on until 24th December 2017.
